homecoming

My parents were visiting me here in Brisbane over the past week or so. In fact, I just sent them to the airport 2 days ago. I guess they took the opportunity to come visit me here in Brisbane while I’m here, and see what kind of life I have over here.

The funny thing that happens when your parents come visit you, is that you revert back to the dependant son, even after you’ve lived independently for a while. My mum cooked every meal and I think I’ve gained a few kilos! I’ll update you guys on the weight as soon as I find out.

As you might know, I’m not going to get sponsored to work here in Australia. The other option for me to stay is to try and apply for a job somewhere else. It wouldn’t be convenient, staying on a tourist visa with rent and expenses to worry about.

So after doing some thinking, I told my parents that I’ve decided to go back to Malaysia. Its not like I have much of a choice to stay either. My dad was happy that I’m coming back, and they helped to bring back some of my stuff. That and I have to sell some of my stuff too.

I have many thoughts about leaving Australia and going back to Malaysia, but I think the whole situation hasn’t sunk in yet. I’m excited to go home because of my friends and family, yet I have some comforts that I enjoy here. Its a whole different life I have here, and I’m glad that I have experienced it at least for a while.

Well, for better or worse I’m coming home.

I guess as you grow older, friends and family becomes more and more important, unlike when you’re young and curious, all you want is to get away from your homeland, but getting older makes us realize the importance of being home and staying close with loved ones. OMG I’m getting so much older! Btw, I am here not from my own lappie that’s why I could access here now, it’s from company’s pc
