alien vs predator

Do you see it now?
Most of you would be familiar with koalas:

Not many people outside Australia know about a similar animal called drop bears. An easy way to spot a dropbear is by its fangs. Unfortunately, by the time you spot its fangs, it might be too late:

Dropbears are extremely territorial, and will defend their homes from trespassers. They are also incredibly agile, being able to leap from branch to branch, and even latch onto other animals (or even a person) with its strong claws.

Koalas usually eat eucalyptus leaves, which have a sedative effect. Koalas are also known for their laidback demeanour, probably from eating these leaves. Dropbears however, are carnivorous and would actually hunt other animals for sustenance. Dropbears have been sighted to have even attacked larger animals, such as in the photograph below:

As a public service the Australian Government has created an awareness campaign for these creatures:

Remember!
LOOK UP, STAY ALIVE
If you’re like me and you find teenagers irritating (especially the noisy ones on the bus), you might like this little invention called “The Mosquito“.
(Click here for the link to the mp3)
It generates a high-frequency sound audible only to those below 25 years old. To them, it sounds like an irritating buzzing of a mosquito (hence the name) and it was created to prevent teenagers from loitering around shops. I dont’ know, some shops just don’t like teenagers I suppose.
Tests have been proven effective, for example: A school in Canada even had vandalism reduced by 40%.
Some people might say that it’s a breach of human rights, bla bla. Well, I think it’s a good idea. I can think of many good examples to put this to use:
What do you think?
update: I just tested it on my boss’s son, who is 16. He found it real annoying that he had to leave the room! Hahahahahaha. But seriously, I can hear it a little, and it kinda hurts the ears. Try downloading the mp3, see if you can hear it …
Third Eye Blind – Semi Charmed Life
One of my favorite songs from the 90s, and I only recently found out (from wikipedia) that the song is totally about drugs. The song is about a drug user’s dark descent into crystal meth addiction.
Check out the lyrics and drug references (taken from wikipedia):
You’ll never look at the song the way again …
Do these songs look familiar to you ?
Those were the Billboard #1 Modern Rock tracks from 1997.
That’s ten years ago! I remember these songs like it’s yesterday !

Sorry, no comic today. But this picture perfectly illlustrates how I feel lately (just look at the blog entry below this):
