One of the best concerts I’ve been to! He was out of breathe for the first two songs (must have lost his voice the night before), but by the third song Chris Martin was into full gear, swinging and jumping around like a 10 year old with ADHD. Full points for enthuasism!
Here’s some pictures:
They started the set with Life in Technicolour (Instrumental) and ended it with the version with lyrics. Other highlights include:
- Confetti during “Lovers in Japan”
- A girl passing out during “Fix You”. Yes, right at the part where the guitars kick in
- An acoustic set situated right in the middle of the audience far in the back row. I’m sure it was all rehearsed, but the band looked like they were really having a good time!
- They threw huge yellow balloons into the crowd. Just take a guess which song was this.
- A medley of “God put a smile on your face” and “Talk”
- Drummer, Will Champion can sing!
- The audience call for encore was the rousing “Whoooahh” from “Viva La Vida”
- I love the the new album songs live, especially “42″, “Death and all his friends”, “Lovers in Japan” and “Viva La Vida”
- Sing alongs for “The Scientist” and “Fix You”
That was a pretty good show, if you asked me!

Sorry for the sporadic updates, I’ve not been having a regular routine lately. You see, I don’t have a permanent place to sleep the past few days, as my housemate/friend have moved out of the previous place. Slept in the city for a few nights, and now I’m in the suburbs.
The friends have decided to move to an unfurnished place, so we’re busy selecting furniture and moving stuff here and there. My life, is again stored in boxes and boxes (of which I’m going to ship back home)
By the way, I’ll be home in Malaysia by next weekend!
A friend of mine asked, “Will you miss Australia?”. I don’t know, I feel like I’ve seen what I can see. If I were to dwell on what I haven’t seen or been to, I’d be rather anal. I thought about it, and I was glad that I could show my parents and Miss S how I’d live here for nearly 2 years. That’s good enough for me.
Speaking of Miss S, I don’t know where we stand. Will we get back together? She said that I was only in love with the past. That its only because its easy to go back to the ‘comfort zone’. To me, its definitely easier to be with someone new, instead of fighting for us to work out!
Sometimes I feel like I’ve lost her completely. I know we’ll never go back to what we were. I know she’ll never love me as she did back then. Sometimes it seems that we’ve grown too far apart, and we’re not the same people we used to be. I just can’t believe that it’s been 7 years …
Anyways, updates will be sporadic until I get some routine back. No comics because I’ve packed my scanner, and no photos because I gave my camera to my parents.
So, if you don’t hear from me until March 14, see you in Malaysia!

My parents were visiting me here in Brisbane over the past week or so. In fact, I just sent them to the airport 2 days ago. I guess they took the opportunity to come visit me here in Brisbane while I’m here, and see what kind of life I have over here.
The funny thing that happens when your parents come visit you, is that you revert back to the dependant son, even after you’ve lived independently for a while. My mum cooked every meal and I think I’ve gained a few kilos! I’ll update you guys on the weight as soon as I find out.
As you might know, I’m not going to get sponsored to work here in Australia. The other option for me to stay is to try and apply for a job somewhere else. It wouldn’t be convenient, staying on a tourist visa with rent and expenses to worry about.
So after doing some thinking, I told my parents that I’ve decided to go back to Malaysia. Its not like I have much of a choice to stay either. My dad was happy that I’m coming back, and they helped to bring back some of my stuff. That and I have to sell some of my stuff too.
I have many thoughts about leaving Australia and going back to Malaysia, but I think the whole situation hasn’t sunk in yet. I’m excited to go home because of my friends and family, yet I have some comforts that I enjoy here. Its a whole different life I have here, and I’m glad that I have experienced it at least for a while.
Well, for better or worse I’m coming home.

I just got the news that I’m not going to get sponsored to continue working here in Australia. I’m not too dissapointed, since I kinda prepared myself mentally for both outcomes.
On one hand, I can try to find another job that will sponsor me, either here in Brisbane or maybe even in Melbourne or Sydney. My student visa’s expiring in March, so I have to find a new job quick (although I can get a tourist visa, which would extend my stay for another 3 months)
Or, I can go back to Malaysia and work there. Perhaps after 2 more years of work experience, I can finally apply for a PR in Australia. I’m sure some of my friends would be happy to hear that I might be coming home …
If you’ve been following my blog, it seems like theres no sense of permanency for me, whether I’m settling in one place, getting a job here or going back. Even my so called transient ‘love-life’ was brought into question the other day (parents can be so cute when they talk about that!)
So here I am, completed my Master’s Degree and I’ve worked for a year now in Australia. Maybe its time I go back?
Hmm, looks like I have some deciding to do.

This happened about 2 weeks ago here in Brisbane. This is taken from Festival Towers, Brisbane CBD. It went on for about an hour. Strangely, it was all lightning and no thunder at all.
