Bangkok Trip day 5 : alone in bangkok

This was actually the day I spent alone because I bought a cheaper return ticket. So, how was it like being alone in Bangkok ?

I won’t go into details here, because my memory is a bit hazy. I’ll just post the pictures then:

Some students listening to a monk under a tree

The huge temple opposite the “Giant Swing”. I spent quite some time here, just watching the people praying and enjoying the tranquility. The peace inside is a huge contrast with the traffic and city outside the temple.

Gold and black buddhas in the aformentioned temple.

The ‘monk’ sitting there is not real ! I didn’t touch it, but I think it’s made out of rubber. Now who would want to put that in their house ? or temple ?

This dog was running on some kinda treadmill. It’s not as cruel as it seems, because the dog can run and stop whenever he wants to. But still, that poor guy is stuck there.

I went to Patpong, but I didn’t have the guts to enter any of the bars. I heard stories where they would try to cheat you, or even worse rob you. Better not go into these bars alone, I figured.

The sky during dawn, as seen from my rooftop. I met a Brazillian-Japanese and we spent some time together on the roof, exchanging information about out cultures. It’s funny that she once said “I’d never kiss a Chinese guy because they spit everywhere”. Apparently that’s very common in Beijing.

Well, that concludes the Bangkok Trip. I do wish to go back there one day, to complete these 2 things:

  • Actually going into a strip bar ( with some friends )
  • Going on the 9-temple pilgrimage

Hopefully I get to do that before I die ^_^

[voch] yes, I cannot describe how serene it was inside the temple. I didn’t take pictures inside the temple though, which I should …

[angelo] I liked that too ! I wanted to take a nearer picture, but didn’t want to disturb the schoolkids in their ‘lesson’. Oh well ..

[melissa] Which means I have to take a photo of the dog !

Good question though, about the lack of photo. Maybe I’ll take one with her, since she’s in KL at the moment. Maybe …

[.mei] I pity the dog cause the string was tied to his neck. But really, I wonder why the dog runs ? He just kept on running …

About chinese guys, well, she was previously in Beijing. That explains why she thinks all Chinese guys are like that … seriously, why do they spit everywhere ?

[Carmen] It was just sitting there, not doing anything and not blinking. Then I realised it was made out of rubber ! Shocked me a while .. hehe.

i couldn’t imagine having tat rubber monk in my house, the idea of having peace of mind wif a monk like tat in the house is so wrong, hahahaa…

actually, wat’s the purpose of “displaying” the dog like tat? not tat a dog symbolize thailand or something. Poor thing.

hey, I haven’t been visiting 4 a while, looks like ur blog is doing very well.

[ee] if you came back earlier we could have gone ! blerghhh :P

Information about the travelling ? When we arrived , I got the travel guide and map from the airport.

about the accommodation , we went to Hostelling International ( very much recommended ) . Shared dorm is 300 baht a night.

[amy] I think the rubber monk is for putting in temples. but still, not very peaceful isn’t it ?

about the dog , I found it in the deeper parts of bangkok , where I can’t see any tourists. I was walking for like , 2 hours in that area ( stupid me , trying to walk from one part of the map to the other ).

thanks about the blog doing well thing. I miss my old visitors like you and ee ^_^

jasonphoon said:

[kaiyuan] she doesn’t like british guys either !

[farah] the doggie looks kinda cute actually. I wonder what the dog is running from ..

[melissa] it’s like a treadmill ! just put some food and dangle it like a carrot and that guy will run for days . ahhah. I’m so cruel.

[guaisaujai] both ! kakakaaka …

nice coverage, very tanquil and peaceful.
No taking pictures of the dog lah.. hehehe :P

Why is that dog on the treadmill? I’ve never seen that before.

Is this some dog exercise machine for city people?

They don’t eat dogs over there, do they? Some of those countries they do, I hear. (in the U. S. dogs sometimes get better treatment than people)
