bangkok trip day 3: traffic and temples

On the third day of my Bangkok trip, we headed down town to visit some temples. There was a traffic jam, as you can tell from the title of my blog entry.

Here’s some pictures !

Stephanie and me. On a Tuk tuk.

Tuk tuks all in a row.

Perhaps the most interesting way to get around in Bangkok. Agree on the fare with the driver before riding one ! It should never be more than 200 baht. Usually it’s about 40 baht depending on how far you go. Also, be weary when they tell you that the place you want to go is closed. They will then take you to “Royal Factory” or “Thai Shop” where they will sell you overpriced jewelry or goods. Always insist on your destination or change tuk tuk.

The Bangkok jam. Notice how colorful their taxis are. Pink, yellow and blue. And they’re all Corolla Altis !

That’s me at the Grand Palace. I don’t know what I was trying to convey.

The Grand Palace

More pictures of the grand palace.

Although it looks like it, I am not pissing on the Giant Buddha’s toes.

Coming up next, Bangkok Trip Day 4 : Shopping and food !

nice photos. more please.

i like the pink/fuschia cabs. hehehe! we should have that here in manila.

your picture outside the grand palace makes you look like you’re about to conduct an orchestra that will play thailand’s national anthem. (especially because of the flag.)

and your last photo… irreverence… hehe!

take care, jp.

[ray] this is afternoon. is it the best time to take photos ? as for the colors, I think I used “I’m Feeling Lucky” in Picasa to auto-correct the colors and lighting. Not bad eh?

and yeah , Corolla Altis. Because their country doesn’t have a national car to burden their economy. Not unlike ours . Eheh.

[angelo] more photos ? well, there’s 3 more days of photos haha. What color are the cabs in manila ?

[noel] The food was great ! I loved it very much. Next post i all about food .. heheh

[stephanie] Ya ! What’s wrong with her ? Cannot smile properly ?

[joeC] I always took the sky train. However, the sky train is more expensive than say , the tuk-tuk. And the skytrain does’nt go everywhere too. I don’t know about the pissing in the bottle part . .haha

i’m serious.

[angelo] wow, that’s a pretty colorful bunch. Here in malaysia, there is yellow, as far as i know.

i guess the only color they don’t have in Manila is pink/fuschia ? Maybe you can take a picture of the multi-colored traffic ! haha ..
