Friday, April 11th, 2008

I realised that I haven’t posted pictures of my house in Brisbane before, sooooooo:

The pool and palm tree at the back. That chair is where I sit and talk on the phone.

I knew this day would come, that you find out about my blog. I guess it would be sooner or later, and it probably won’t be hidden from you for too long anyway.

It must be a little weird to read so much about your son, or the fact that this blog has been around for so long without you knowing. Well, now that you found it, I might as well describe a little of what goes on around here:

  • I draw comics sometimes. Contrary to what my comics potray, I don’t hate women.
  • Yes, I’ve taken drugs before. It was only once, and it was out of curiosity.
  • I’ve been to a strip club here in Brisbane once, out of curiosity too.
  • Here’s some photos of my time here in Brisbane.
  • Don’t mind the people that comment on my blog. They’re a little crazy.

I guess you would drop by once in a while, and hopefully not get too shocked about the content here. Remember, take things with a little pinch of salt, as I exagerrate once in a while.

Erm, guess that’s it. Enjoy.

happy birthday julian phoon!

Third Eye Blind - Semi Charmed Life

One of my favorite songs from the 90s, and I only recently found out (from wikipedia) that the song is totally about drugs. The song is about a drug user’s dark descent into crystal meth addiction.

Check out the lyrics and drug references (taken from wikipedia):

  • “I’m packed and I’m holding” (The user is high — nose is “packed” — and has meth on his person — “holding”)
  • “Chop another line like a coda with a curse” (A “line” of meth is chopped with a razor blade, then snorted — “coda with a curse” because it is done repeatedly in an attempt to avoid a meth “crash”)
  • “Doing crystal meth will lift you up until you break” (”Crystal meth” is often censored, or blurred)
  • “And then I bumped up, I took the hit that I was given” (Bump is a popular term for small line)
  • “I’m scared, I’m not coming down” (The user is so wired that he’s getting paranoid)
  • “…she said she was crashing” (The user is losing the “high” and being overcome by depression and fatigue)
  • “She’s got her jaws now locked down in a smile” (Meth may cause a user’s jaw to lock up)
  • “I was taking sips of it to my nose” (The user was snorting bumps)
  • “I won’t come down” (The user doesn’t want to lose the high, ever)
  • “I want something else” (The user wants something other than meth to get him through life)
  • “I want nothing else” (The original chorus opening, in which the user wants nothing other than meth to get him through life. This was changed to “I want something else” for unclear reasons.)

You’ll never look at the song the way again …

new stuff on my blog

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

I’ve been toying around in my blog

  1. Countdown
    It’s a mysterious countdown.
  2. Handsome photo
In this picture, I am going “hmmmmmmm…..”
  3. Twitter.com updates
Twitter is this little micro blog that you can post mini entries on whatever is it that you’re doing. You can post through SMS and get updates from friends through SMS as well. Check it out, it’s pretty cool.
  4. New Comment System
For whatever reason, you can now reply on other people’s comments. Go on and tell that other guy he’s an idiot.

Besides these front-end stuff, my blog is now running on Wordpress 2.5. I previously never upgraded my Wordpress because I thought I’d never get hacked. I guess I learnt my lesson there.

Enjoy and have a good day!
