the foolish knight

the foolish knight
Otherwise known as the Ekka, this exhibition is held for 10 days each August to celebrate agriculture. I’ve always wanted to see some animals since I came here to Brisbane so I headed down to the Ekka with John, Michelle and her parents last Monday. It’s times like these I wish I had a real camera instead of my phone camera.
Some sweet rides
They painted the scream on a cow’s ass
mmmm … cotton candy … mmmm
tall white creepy men on stilts
this pig was so huge ! like 5 feet long ! hmmm .. bacon
hmmm … duckies
I never knew what is an alpaca. Now I know it’s like a miniature llama.
A farmer and his dog
The dog was quite amazing. The farmer would say “go fetch the black chicken” and the dog would do just that ! Then the farmer said “now go get the white one. No , not the big one, the small one … ” and the dog would get the small white chicken ! That was pretty cool in my opinion.
Well, if I had a better camera I would have posted pictures of the amusement park, showbags, chariot races, rodeo, motorbike stunts and awesome firework display. But I don’t
All in all, it was a really awesome event and I can’t wait for the riverside festival next month. Hope I can take better pictures next time !

come dance closer …
I’ve rewritten the about page to look like a wikipedia entry ! Well I’ll just copy and paste what’s on the about page here :
Jason Phoon
Jason Phoon is a blogger and some-time comic artist. He is known for his off-beat humor, sometimes poignant blog entries and nonsensical comics. He also wears his heart on his sleeve and is not afraid to blog about his fears and emotions.
Ancestry
His family’s ancestry is from the Guangxi province of China. His grandfather and great-grandfather left China during the Chinese Civil War to work on a rubber plantation in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. It was there that Jason Phoon’s grandfather married and had 15 children.
Jason Phoon’s father was a kid with a scrawny frame and big ambitions. He would pursue a scholarship in Taiwan and left his hometown of Negeri Sembilan. After returning to Malaysia, he would then cycle to Kuala Lumpur and find work. There he met Jason’s mother ( who was his neighbor ) and they got married.
They then went on a honeymoon and Jason Phoon was probably conceived in Korea.
Early Life
Jason Phoon was born on 12 July 1983 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He would then go to pre-school, school, university and work within only 2 square kilometers of each other.
Career
Jason has worked as a freelance web-designer during university and also some time after. In 2006, he joined (if )interactive , an interactive media consultancy, specializing in games and cutting edge websites.

best friends forever
This is the official theme song for the Life and Times of Jason Phoon. Otherwise known as:
Some of you might have heard the song, some of you may not. Anyways, you’re free to download it and use it for your ring tone or whatever. Just don’t blame me if it gets stuck in your head.
This piece was recorded live in my bedroom with a ukulele, hence the title. You could tell that I was very creative in the naming of the song. Also, the ukulele costs 10 bucks and the microphone cost 10 bucks so it’s a very cheap recording.
It’s still quite catchy though.
