goodbye

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

Some of you may know that I’m leaving to study in Australia. I’m doing a Masters of Information and Communication Technology at Griffith University, Brisbane. Basically a glorified geek certification.

I’ll be there for one and a half years, longer if I’m working there.

Also, I’ll be in Melbourne from the 1st to the 8th of July to visit my brother and a few friends. Then I’m off to Brisbane on the 9th for my orientation.

I have a million things to say here but I don’t know where to start. So, I’m just going to say goodbye.

and thanks for the memories.

  3. Sit down on the toilet bowl
  4. Think of all my ex-girlfriends, crushes or flings
  5. Laugh to yourself as you remember the time a girl ripped your heart and stepped on it

 cruel intentions

Unfortunately, this will be the last comic for a while. I’ll be going to Australia this Saturday and I don’t know if I’ll have a scanner over there. Oh well, enjoy the old ones.

should I bring Humpty to Australia ?

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

I once had a discussion with my boss and a few colleagues. We were talking about our imaginary friends when we were young. My boss answered “G.I Joe” , and another colleague mentioned Optimus Prime. Mine was Humpy Dumpty.

Humpty is a very soft pillow roughly the size of my head. He used to have a Humpty Dumpty cover which was frankly very ugly. His cover has since changed to plain one, but the name stuck. If you ever want to know how I smell like, you can smell him.

Yes, I am 24 and I still have a comfort pillow.

Laugh all you want, but I bet some of you are screwed up for life when your parents threw your comfort pillow away. Maybe you all just don’t know it yet, but the day your parents threw your imaginary friend away, was the day you lost your childhood. Look at me, I’m well adjusted and brilliant ! Well, mostly …

Anyways, I’ve had him since I was young and he’s been my constant companion through thick and thin. In fact, my ex-girlfriends were so jealous of him and always threatened to kill him. Then I’d give them the cold shoulder and they’ll play nice. Don’t mess with the Humpty!

Also, my brother and I used to make up an imaginary world ( inside the mirror ) where they roam and travel anywhere they want. When I said they, it means he also had imaginary friends/comfort pillows. So these 3 pillows always went on adventure and fought amongst themselves. Usually Humpty would get beaten up because he was the shortest. Julian left his imaginary friends here when he went to Melbourne.

Now the big question remains, should I bring Humpty to Australia ?

On one hand, it would be nice to have something familiar when I’m in a foreign land. On the other hand, I am conflicted with the notion of an imaginary friend. Does having one mean not growing up ? Is it a phase of life that we all grow out of ? Is it childish to own one ? What if something happened to him ?

Screw it, me and Humpty are going to have a great adventure!

Oh, do tell me about your imaginary friends/comfort pillows. I would love to hear about them. So that I know I’m not that crazy after all.
