Just a little bit more about myself.

Monday, September 19th, 2005

Here comes the time when I realise my blog doesn’t describe me in any way at all. So I’m going to try to explain whats going on in my life at the moment.

  • I have classes on Mondays and Thursday. Both are 2 hours long. Urghh .. so hectic.
  • I give private computer tuition on Thursdays. That’s my only source of allowance nowadays. I’m lucky petrol money is still subsidized by my dad. Oh and living expenses too. I’m such a lucky guy.
  • I’m starting up a computer training center with 2 friends. Hope this pays off so I can retire soon. Eheh …
  • I play Dota a lot. I become an angry young man while playing.
  • I read a lot of stupid stuff on the Internet. Some of you might know by the content of my blog.
  • I find it hard to like anyone. As in “like” like. Am I too fussy? Am I turning gay? Am I nuts?
  • Shufen is great to hang out with. It’s cool. We were buddies before, during and even after the relationship. She’s my best friend.
  • I’ve been sleeping irregularly from 2am to 6am. I’m trying quite hard to sleep like a normal person.
  • The subject I’m studying now it actually pretty darn interesting. Strategic Management of Technological Innovation. Okay, you’re rolling your eyes already…. so what if I’m a nerd?

Well, that’s what I do nowadays.

The Tale of Rachel Scott

Rachel Scott

13 Tears. Note the number.

This is the tale of Rachel Scott. One fine Easter, she went to school. She drew that picture you see above. Earlier that year she wrote in her journal:

“This is my last year Lord, I have gotten what I can. Thank You”

She was shot just outside school while she was having her lunch. Some people claimed that she was asked the question “Do you believe in God?” to which she answered “You know I do”.

There were 13 victims in the Columbine School Massacre, not including the two gunmen who shot themselves afterwards.

The drawing above was drawn only 2 hours before she was shot. Apparently, in her earlier journal entries she wrote that one day she would touch the life of millions. Her journal entries and drawings seemed prophetic. The world wasn’t quite the same after Columbine.

On Bullshit

Wednesday, September 14th, 2005
I was reading book reviews at ruthlessreviews.com and I found a book called “On Bullshit”. Supposedly the state of the world and how everyone is nowadays revolves around a lot of bullshit. Presented neatly as a case study and report is the state of bullshit in the world.

You see, bullshit is different from plain lying. To quote the review:

The book argues that bullshitters are even worse than liars. Those who tell the truth and those who lie have the same benchmark from which to tell their tale; the truth. Those who bullshit have no reference point whatsoever, completely disregarding what is true and what is false, concerned only with one thing; getting their way. Whether their statements are true or false make no difference to them. They are more interested in winning arguments than engaging in an honest pursuit of the truth.

Wow , I never knew that.

Lobotomy

Sunday, September 11th, 2005
Feel depressed ? chronic anxiety ? obsessive-compulsive ?

If you lived in the 1940s or 1950s , you would go to a doctor. And that doctor would take a rubber-mallet and hit an ice-pick into your skull.

Sounds ridiculous eh? Well, an American dude named Walter Freeman invented the “ice pick” lobotomy. He made the lobotomy popular for all perceived ills, including misbehaviour in children. Now we have a new horror story to keep the kids in line …hehe

He travelled the counry in the “lobotomobile” and performed between 40,000 and 50,000 lobotomies. Here were the results :

  • 41% of them reported cured
  • 28% improved a little
  • 25% showed no change
  • 4% died
  • 2% made worse

Well , I know some people who needs a lobotomy for misbehaving, perhaps we could help eh ?? heheh .. I kid .. I kid. But seriously, lobotomy is infrequently practised nowadays. That era of lobotomy is considered barbaric.

Makes you wonder if any psychiatric practices now are actually dangerous and would be considered barbaric in the future eh?

Deep Roy

Deep Roy as all 165 Oompa Loompas in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

This post is dedicated to the amazing actor that is Deep Roy. You might know him from Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. You can say Johnny Depp and Deep Roy are the stars of the show. But really, this guy can dance, sing ( I don’t know if he really sings , but he appears to ) , crossdress , multiply , sign language and make chocolate.

I don’t believe that Deep Roy got paid only $1,000,000 for the part as compared to $18,000,000 for Johnny Depp. Without him , no oompa loompas , no oompa loompas , no chocolate factory , no chocolate factory , no movie. They should pay him 165 times more for the 165 fellers he was playing. Did you know that he took up pilates and dance lessons for the movie ? And what did Johnny Depp do ? Act weird. Pfft…

His birth name is Gordeep Roy which means “God’s Light”. He was born in Kenya of Indian parentage. His personal quote is

“The most important thing is never to forget to always have love in your heart”

He also appears in these movies :

  • Corpse Bride
  • Big Fish
  • Haunted Mansion
  • planet of the apes
  • the Grinch
  • Return of the Jedi
  • Neverending Story

The Longest Day

Thursday, September 8th, 2005
I’ve been up for 20 hours since 2pm the previous day. Funny that I don’t feel tired. But then again my liver might be crashing already, I don’t know. So here is the story of my longest day.
  • Woke up to sound of a car crash and explosion outside my room. Mom watching The Punisher. So I watched it too. Movie was dumb but enjoyable.
  • Meet with lecturer with Adrian and Wai … ooOOoo … business proposal.
  • Wai went hunting for World Of Warcraft starter pack. Damn, it’s sold out everywhere.
  • We had dinner with Tsuen at Taman Tun. Damn overpriced fried chicken.
  • Wai and Tsuen went to watch Red Eye while Adrian , Aravind , Jason, Johnson and I wen to go kick Dota ass.
  • Wai joined us later. We played till 2am. Yikes….
  • There’s always time for burger !! Even at 2am !!
  • Was supposed to send Ashley off at KLIA at 6am. But Mary couldn’t wake up. -_-”
  • I had breakfast. Hot dog good :)
I realized that this point form outline of a day is kinda lazy. The original post had a paragraph for each point. You can imagine it to be a super long post, so I cut it short.

Walking in Kiosk at 6am in the morning, and driving around the roads with so few cars around does feel unreal. Everything is so peaceful and queit. I kinda like that.

Well, I have a long day ahead. I guess I should get some sleep , or maybe I’ll try to stay awake for 24 hours. Hmmm, I haven’t done that in a while …..
